Cousins

James Cousins’ company is renowned for its pot lids featuring a superb pictorial transfer depicting the Eddystone lighthouse, which must surely rank as the finest pot lid from a Plymouth company.

Although not strictly speaking chemists, being perfumers & hairdressers, the company is included here because of the importance of these pot lids. The company operated from around 1878 – 1937 from various addresses in Plymouth.

Variations of the pot lid featuring different addresses are found as are rather plain glass bottles, unfortunately Mr Cousins didn’t see fit to repeat the pictorial trade mark on the bottles.
