T. Henwood & Co

Very few bottles of any description are found from Liskeard, one company of chemists which has left some trace are Henwood & Co who operated from Market St and Fore St, Liskeard. The company is listed in 1902 as conducting a variety of businesses including wine & spirit merchants, grocers, chemists and mineral water manufacturers with other outlets in Padstow.

The company is known from Niagara patent Codd bottles used by their mineral water operation, these being found in both 6oz and 10oz sizes (both being rare finds).

Boots

The town saw the arrival of Boots some time before 1939, as with their other stores the company’s bottles carry no embossing referring to the location but a labeled example does survive with a Liskeard address.
